Installing WordHunter on Windows

When you run the WordHunter installer, Windows will show you a blue SmartScreen screen. It is not an error, and nothing is wrong with your computer. Read the warning closely and it says unknown publisher, not dangerous app.

How to get past it

1. Click "More info" on the blue dialog.
2. Click "Run anyway", which only appears after the first step.

Why does it appear?

A Windows code-signing certificate costs $400 a year. WordHunter is built by one student developer, so the Windows build is unsigned for now. The macOS version is signed and notarized by Apple and shows no such warning.

WordHunter supports Windows 10 and later.
